St. Louis Hawks Futbol Club is delighted to announce Lucas Almeida as the club’s new Director of Coaching and Player Development. In this role, Lucas will continue to develop and implement a broad program to enhance the development of St. Louis Hawks FC children as soccer players and coaches. He will begin this position full time starting June 1, 2019.

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, he started to play youth soccer at age 5 with club teams like Santos and GR Barueri before coming to the United States in 2010 to further his education and soccer career.

He was a four-year captain and starter for the Oklahoma Weslelyan University in Bartlesville, OK. He was named a MCAC First Team All-Conference player all four seasons while also being named Player of the Year in 2012. In 2013, he led OWU to the NAIA National Tournament and earned NAIA All-American First Team honors. Almeida finished his collegiate career with 51 goals and 34 assist in 74 games. He also played at the semi-pro level for Mississippi Brilla FC and the Vermont Voltage in the PDL.

After graduation in the fall of 2014 he started playing professional indoor soccer for the Tulsa Revolution. He earned honorable mention for the league’s All-Rookie team. In 2015 he was acquired by the St. Louis Ambush and has just completed his fourth season with the team. He was third on the team for goals with 12 and first on the team with assist with 22 leading the team in total points with 34 this past season.

Almeida's passion for coaching started during his collegiate career days and since then he has accumulated many years of experience at different levels including High School, Club, and College. He currently holds a USSF Coaching License and serves as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Fontbonne University, while pursuing his Masters in Business and Administration.
